MASSPHOTON has been invited to participate in the 2026 11th International Conference on Water Pollution and Treatment (ICWPT 2026), which will be held in Tokyo, Japan, from July 25 to 27, 2026. During the conference, the company will present a technical paper titled 《Design and Performance Validation of a High-Flow Water Disinfection Module Based on UVC LED Technology》, showcasing its latest technological advancements and practical achievements in water pollution control.
About ICWPT 2026
ICWPT is one of the most influential international academic conferences in the field of water pollution prevention and treatment. Supported by leading institutions such as Nagasaki University and Saitama University, the conference focuses on cutting-edge technologies in water pollution control, water quality monitoring, and water resource protection. It brings together experts from academia, industry, and government worldwide to address industry challenges and explore future directions.
Accepted papers from ICWPT 2026 will be published in the 《International Journal of Environmental Science and Development》(IJESD,ISSN:2010-0264), which is indexed by Scopus, Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), CABI, Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory, EBSCO, Crossref, and ProQuest, reflecting its strong academic impact.
As a premier platform for presenting theoretical, experimental, and applied research, ICWPT 2026 covers a wide range of topics, including water resource planning and management, water pollution control, industrial water treatment, wastewater reuse, and desalination, integrating research innovation with engineering applications.
MASSPHOTON Technical Highlights
With growing global demand for water safety and environmental protection, advanced water disinfection technologies that offer high adaptability, low operational burden, and strong reliability have become essential for municipal and industrial water treatment. Conventional disinfection methods often face limitations in high-flow, pressurized, continuous operation scenarios, such as insufficient capacity, limited pressure resistance, and the generation of harmful disinfection byproducts.
To address these challenges, MASSPHOTON has developed a high-flow water disinfection module based on UVC LED technology. The company will present its research findings in the conference paper titled “Design and Performance Validation of a High-Flow Water Disinfection Module Based on UVC LED Technology.”
The study introduces a novel module with a rated treatment capacity of 48 L/min. Utilizing physical UVC LED technology, the system ensures ozone-free operation, enhancing safety. Through a high-strength integrated hydraulic structure and optimized spatial arrangement of light-emitting components, the module demonstrates stable structural integrity under pressures up to 1.0 MPa, with no leakage or deformation observed.
Microbiological performance evaluation was conducted in strict accordance with international water disinfection standards, using Escherichia coli strains 8099 and ATCC 25922 as indicator organisms. Results show that under continuous flow conditions at 48 L/min, the module consistently achieves a 5-log (99.999%) inactivation rate, meeting stringent requirements for both drinking water and industrial process water safety.
By overcoming key limitations of traditional disinfection systems, this innovation integrates high-flow capacity, zero chemical byproduct generation, and excellent pressure resistance, providing a scalable engineering solution for high-demand water treatment applications.
ICWPT 2026 offers an international platform for showcasing, evaluating, and discussing advanced water treatment technologies. MASSPHOTON will engage with global research institutions, engineering organizations, and industry partners to further validate and refine UVC LED water disinfection technologies, while exploring their value in high-standard water treatment systems.
