UVC LED

  • Q Do UVC LEDs produce ozone?

    A

Conventional UVC LEDs (265–280 nm) produce almost no ozone. Only deep ultraviolet light with wavelengths <240 nm (e.g., 185 nm) excites oxygen to generate ozone. Most UVC LED products are ozone-free and safer.

  • Q UV LED vs UV lamp disinfection: Which is better?

    A

Traditional mercury lamps offer high power and low cost but contain mercury, require warm-up time, have short lifespans, and are fragile. UV LEDs are mercury-free, start instantly, have long lifespans (10,000–50,000 hours), small size, shock resistance, and are more environmentally friendly and safe. LEDs are expected to replace mercury lamps in the future.

  • Q What are UV sterilizers used for?

    A

UV sterilizers are used to inactivate microorganisms in water, air, and on surfaces without chemical residues. They are suitable for drinking water, air purification, medical devices, food processing, and other scenarios, providing physical and eco-friendly disinfection.

  • Q What is UVC LED?

    A

UVC LED is a light-emitting diode that emits ultraviolet light in the UVC band (typically 260–280 nm). UVC has strong germicidal capabilities, destroying the DNA/RNA of bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms, preventing replication and achieving disinfection. It is mercury-free, ozone-free, instantly starts, has a long lifespan, and is more environmentally friendly.

  • Q What is UVC?

    A

UVC refers to ultraviolet light in the C band (200-280 nm), which has the strongest germicidal power and can destroy the DNA/RNA of microorganisms. UVC in natural sunlight is blocked by the atmosphere. Artificial UVC lamps are used for disinfection, producing no ozone (high-quality lamps) or low ozone.
